KITCHEN FILMS / OUR STORYCOOKED WITH LOVE.

Different roots.
A shared vision.

We’re Pedro and Yassin. Filmmakers, collaborators, and the people behind Kitchen Films—a home for independent stories and the artists who tell them.

Pedro Borges, co-founder of Kitchen Films

Pedro Borges

CO-FOUNDER
WRITER & DIRECTOR

Pedro is a Brazilian-American writer and director, raised in New York and based in Los Angeles. He earned his BFA at the New York Film Academy in 2015. His work spans narrative shorts, music videos, visual poetry, and commercial projects.

His films include Dreamcatcher, Eventually, and Dear Mom. A member of the inaugural Blackmagic Collective First Frame cohort, he also brings experience as an assistant director. At Kitchen Films, he pairs that hands-on practice with a belief that independent stories deserve an audience.

Yassin Koptan

CO-FOUNDER
DIRECTOR & EDITOR

Born in Alexandria, Egypt, Yassin’s path into filmmaking began with the skateboarding community he grew up around. A New York Film Academy alumnus, he works across directing, writing, and editing, making films and music videos with a personal point of view.

His work includes Piece of Wood, Skumjas, Cairokee’s Layla, and Saturday Saints’ Crash. Skumjas was selected for the 2020 Woodstock Film Festival. At Kitchen Films, that creative practice sits alongside a commitment to helping independent artists reach an audience.

02 / HOW WE GOT HERE

Built by filmmakers.
Made for discovery.

Kitchen Films grew out of Pedro and Yassin’s ambition to make films and help independent artists find an audience. Early work like Dreamcatcher and Cairokee’s Layla shared a home with stories from a wider circle of filmmakers.

That spirit runs through a catalogue of short films, music videos, and visual poetry—different voices, cultures, and ways of seeing, brought together by a love of film.
